Welcome back to our new blog series where we’re looking back at our 2026 Summer marquee season. In June we supplied marquees across North Yorkshire, Cumbria and….Suffolk! Yorkshire Marquee Company went truly national! We founded the company only 3 years ago, and we’re proud of how far we’ve come (literally!).  Back in June, our marquees were popping up all over the region but we started strong with a three wedding week, firstly at the stunning Croft Hall. Our sailcloth wedding marquee looked splendid in the manicured gardens, perfectly aligned with the house. When you book the Yorkshire Marquee Company team, this is the attention to detail we prioritise to maximise the marquee in the setting.  Top Tip! Every setting is different and requires expertise to maximise the views, guest journey and lighting. That’s why you book the Yorkshire Marquee Company team with our combined 60 years of experience in the industry.  Ripon marquee hire - secondly, we found ourselves working in and around Ripon a lot this year, and this week was no different as we built a stunning 14m x 26m wedding sailcloth marquee for Emily and Ben at Emily’s family farm for their 200 guests. And thirdly, a super frame marquee for Jen and Jake in Cowton making the most of the views across the fields.  In the following week we headed over the North York Moors near Whitby to build on the side of a hill for the lovely Emily and Jack. We absolutely loved their wedding video complete with a vintage motorbike making their entrance!  Marquee hire in North Yorkshire – we always recommend that the ground is as flat as possible. The key is in the prep, if you need to level the ground make sure this is completed a year in advance and that the grass is cut hard before we arrive.  Marquee hire takes us all over the country and the last 2 weeks of June was no different.  Marquee hire Cumbria - Shaun and Jen’s wedding near Kendal was one of our favourites from this year. A stunning location, flat ground and gorgeous personal touches – everything we love about a marquee wedding.  Ben and Lucy’s wedding in West Yorkshire had been in the diary for a while and we were so looking forward to getting on site, even in the first heat wave of the Summer. Over 200 guests enjoyed the warm evening as the marquee lit up and set the scene for their traditional farm wedding. Think cattle feeder arch, hay bales and tractors. We were so sad to take down the marquee having spoken to Ben and Lucy for the last 2 years!  As the heat wave continued to bake the country we headed down south to Suffolk to help a fellow supplier supply a wedding marquee. Boxted Hall was a tremendous venue but we were very happy to return to Yorkshire where the temperature was a few degrees cooler!  June took us all over the region, supplying marquee hire in North and West Yorkshire, Cumbria and even down south. This is why we love what we do, working with fabulous couples in some stunning locations as every wedding marquee is different.

Something we’ll say twice this Summer marquee season! We’ll get to the first time as we start this new blog series – a meander through this season’s highlights, why choosing the Yorkshire Marquee Company team was the best choice and including some of our top tips for future couples planning their marquee wedding or marquee event. Our season started with a bang in April as we welcomed new and existing clients to our first open day in North Cowton alongside our friends at Wildflower Weddings. Over 100 couples joined us for prosecco and cake and it was great to get excited with them about their plans for the marquee and their wedding day. We’ll be announcing the date for our 2027 open day very shortly! May began with one of our largest marquee hire jobs. When Sam from Ripon Rugby Club in North Yorkshire first approached us to discuss marquee hire for a 2 day celebration of the club’s anniversary we knew it was going to be big. He’s a man with grand plans, and our job was to meet those ambitions! With 270 rugby players and their families each day we knew our 14m wide by 38m long sailcloth marquee was up for the job and crucially had enough space for dining and 2 bars without feeling uncomfortable. Why have one bar when you need two! Top Tip for marquee hire It’s imperative when planning an event or marquee wedding that you think about all the extras that will go into the marquee alongside the dining space – think bar, dance floor, cake table, space for the band or DJ. We always advise to size up for this reason and our 14m wide marquees are perfect for any celebration.  We often get asked, how far do you travel to supply marquees? The great news is that we travel far and wide! From our base in Richmond, North Yorkshire we travel across North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire and Cumbria, up to County Durham and Northumberland and as far south as north Lincolnshire. We don’t just stop at marquee hire in North Yorkshire, we love seeing different parts of our region! May continued with marquee hire for parties, marquee weddings and the quintessentially English Coverham Church Fete, one of our favourite events in the diary. Think classic cars, a dog show & we would highly recommend the WI cake tent!  When choosing a team to deliver your marquee wedding or event, communication is key. This was critical for Libby & Macauley in Louth, Lincolnshire who tied the knot at the end of May in one of our stunning 3 pole Aurora sailcloth marquees on their family farm. ‘We’ve never known a business so well-organised, run & managed, nor such a great group of people in general (miss Lola included) all equipment and furniture was immaculate ad very high quality, and communication with the lead-up to the wedding couldn’t of been better.’ Libby Benton.  We are always delighted to be the team chosen to supply a wedding marquee. The trust placed in our 60 years combined experience, our expertise and our grade A equipment is such a privilege. And when it’s for wonderful clients – and a special shout out to Libby’s family for providing so many refreshments on a conveyor belt! – it’s the icing on the cake for us.  Stay tuned for part 2 of our look back at this Summer marquee season!
